Memories

Stories shared in Jeff's memory.

Jeff's amazing tech skills

Kitsy Mathews James · Aunt, Mom Nora's sister

I am still so impressed with how skilled Jeffery was in his ability to figure out and work with such high tech things. For example once he and Jeff 1 came to visir me here in Evansville, Indiana as they were literally installing cameras, and everything needed for a system in our jail where friends and families could do virtual visits with inmates!! I was so impressed!!! He also had a Japanese high tech dance floor he would supply while also DJ'ing!! It could light up in many different sequences and patterns. He also installed on my sister Carol's TV a bunch of his favorite programs for me!!! Once he returned a blue plate or two he had very long ago borrowed° possibly because i had told him eating on blue plates can help onevtake less portions 😆 and i was trying to lose weight!!! He was so kind and considerate ALWAYS and of course gave the BEST hugs ever. I sure look forward to seeing him once again when i cross the Jordan!!

May the road rise up to meet you , may the wind be at your back, the the sun shine warm upon your face & the rain soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand. (p.s. my dogs are here) :)

Ray · Friend

Although our friendship was brief, I am grateful to have met you. I'm happy you ate my cheesecake & enjoyed it. I was hoping for more memories with you & LUka as you both made me feel so at home after moving back here.

Rest peacefully my friend.

I met Jeff at a SICK PUPPIES concert, and from there, the adventure was on. We enjoyed multiple concerts, including VIP and getting to meet them. The last time I saw you, we saw Shim for his solo act. Your smile was ever present, and will always be seen, every concert I see, you'll be there.

Jerry Thomas · Friend

Jeff, I remember when Jon L. & I were kids, you were the cool older neighbor who took us on adventures down the creek & through the woods. You were in a band and always had so much fun getting into trouble and being so creative. 8 years later, we met again by chance, and you gave me the opportunity & courage to go out and work with you & most importantly the confidence to work for myself. We spent 8 years working together & living together. We had so much fun, it hardly felt like working. I met all sorts of new & best friends with you. I will treasure our time together always. They were the best of times. Love you brother.

Jon · Friend

Jeff you always accepted everyone with open arms and made them feel home no matter who they were. I always strived to be more like you. You were a friend to so many and so welcoming. I miss you man.

Mark · Friend

I hope wherever you are you're skiing the best champagne powder just like that day back in Steamboat. You were the kind of friend that someone, anyone, could always count on.

Tom Mathews · Uncle

When Jeff was maybe 4 or 5 years old he came to visit me in Indianapolis. Jeff liked electronics even then so I showed him a "Tesla Coil" that I have that makes a very nice and mostly safe blue spark. The next time they came to visit, maybe a few months later, Jeff brought some scrap circuit boards that he wanted to shock with the Tesla Coil. After talking about the fact that this probably won't bring the electronics back to life we had a fun time shocking the boards and "oohing" and "ahhing" over the pretty blue sparks. I knew Jeff loved electronics at that moment.

Thank you for always being a soft place to land and sharing your light and music.

Stephanie Perry Atkins · Friend

I will never forget Jeff's infectious laugh, his hugs that felt like they would snap me in half, his inexplicable love for Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On", or the way he would affectionately yell "STEPH SUCKS!" every time he saw me.

Mary Hewitt

Jeff, Thank you for your sunshine + musical voice - and for dancing with me at David's wedding.

Dave · Friend

Jeff, you were such an amazing friend and roommate. I will never forget you.

Lisa Hewitt · Friend

Always made me smile. Loved his creativity + thirst for fun times. Will always go down in history for the Secret Room + his friendships.

Always enjoyed watching FloodLight's concerts, where Jeff made sure the lights always shown correctly to ensure every band member had a moment.

Nora, Emily and Andrew:

We are very saddened to hear about Jeff’s passing.

Although it’s been so long since we have seen Jeff, when we learned the news we were heartbroken for you all. We have very fond memories of Jeff as a kid. Our earliest memories are from Huntington Ave days in Latonia and later In Loveland when we would visit at Christmas and the summer when we would come to go swimming at the swimming pool.

Jeff was always kind and sweet to us —- and we can only find comfort he is up in heaven with Larry smiling down on your all.

With our Dearest sympathies Your old friends,

The Dreyer Family Brett, Amy, Lindsey and Nicholas

I only knew Jeff for a short period of time, but he had a huge impact on me despite that. I can easily picture his smile and the sound of his laugh. I'm always telling people about the Plex server he ran, during the time he lived at Tom's house, which is when I saw him most since I lived nearby. He treated me like a close friend, so I thought of him that way in return, but I feel like I mostly knew him through others. Everyone I knew loved him and I felt lucky to know him. I promise to do my best, as so many people said, to honor him by moving through the world with the kindness he embodied.

I am so sorry that you have lost him.

Charlotte Klimovich · Cousin

I’ll always remember how Jeff was there for me after my severe mental health crisis in 2017. He called me when I was in the hospital and kept checking in with me after I got out. I don’t feel close to a lot of my cousins, but Jeff was just quirky enough that I felt I could be my true weird self with him. It’s hard to believe there won’t be another chance to catch up as I looked forward to all his updates. I won’t forget the kindness he showed me and hope I can pay it forward in his honor.

Marcus Pandolfo · Loveland School Friend

Jeff was a really witty and nice person. He was everyone's friend even if the other party wasn't aware of the

new friendship. I am happy to of gotten the chance to know him.

Polly · Mandy's Friend

My heart goes out to all who loved Jeff.

I came to know him through my best friend, Mandy.

While I didn’t know Jeff personally, I’ve heard many stories that show how deeply loved he was & how deeply

he loved all of his friends.

I’m grateful he gave Mandy and so many others the gift of his friendship and love.

I’ve heard his hugs were truly life-changing.

I’m so sorry for everyone’s loss, and I hope Jeff’s love continues to shine through all of you.

Love,

Polly (Mandy’s friend)

Danielle Walerius · High School Friend

I’ve never met anyone else quite like Jeff. He was someone who made each moment more special through

his humor and randomness and ability to somehow fearlessly bring what he imagined into reality. He looked

for the good in everyone and was the least judgmental person I’ve ever known. He made friends effortlessly

and brought people together, leading to more friendships/connections forming through him. There’s so much

in Jeff I admired and respected. The world would be a better place if more people were like him. He was

good, and one of a kind, and absolutely unforgettable. I feel blessed to have known him.

With love and deepest sympathy,

Danielle Walerius (a friend from high school)

Dave Klimovich · Uncle

Dave remembers that every time we saw Jeffery, which wasn't very often, we really enjoyed the time we

spent with him. He was always a lot of fun to be around; he will miss that. Dave will miss the

conversations about the latest technology.

Cindi Klimovich · Aunt

Cindi has many memories of Jeff both when he was young and older. She is holding those memories

close to her heart. She will love and miss him forever! While she has so many memories, one memory was

when we were playing foosball in 2015 Portland OR. Thankful for that trip and time spent together.

Ben James · Cousin

I am grateful for every spring break I spent in Cincy watching Jeff grow into the caring and gentle young man he will be remembered

as. Jeff's kind heart, warm smile, and generous and loving personality were gifts to all that knew him, and his passing is a deep loss to

our family and world. Our thoughts and hearts are with the Kolberg family as they grieve this unimaginable loss and honor and

remember Jeff's life.

With love,

Ben, Ryoko, and Sara James
